What does an arborist do?
An arborist is a trained tree care professional. Arborists assess tree health and risk, prune to industry standards, remove trees safely, and write the reports that permits and insurers often require. An ISA Certified Arborist has passed the International Society of Arboriculture's certification exam.
Are your arborists certified?
Yes. Tiger Devine is an ISA Certified Arborist (#P8007A), TRAQ qualified for tree risk assessment, and a certified Wildlife and Tree Danger Assessor (#P2350). We are fully insured and WorkSafe compliant.
Do I need a permit to remove a tree in Vancouver?
Usually, if the tree is 20 cm or more in diameter, measured 1.4 metres above the ground. The City of Vancouver also asks for an arborist report with the application. Our guide on when Vancouver requires an arborist report explains the rules.
When is the best time to prune trees in Vancouver?
